The Scottish Storytelling Centre

The Scottish Storytelling Centre

The Scottish Storytelling Centre is a hothouse of Scottish tradition, telling tales in English, Scots and Gaelic, keeping old stories alive and paving the way for the new.

It’s a  vibrant arts venue located on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, with live storytelling, theatre, music, exhibitions, family events and workshops happening all year round in two spaces: the Netherbow Theatre, and the Storytelling Centre Cafe.

Every October the Centre hosts the Scottish International Storytelling Festival, a 10 day celebration of live storytelling, oral traditions and cultural diversity, bringing together a large number of Scottish and international storytellers and musicians. In 2014, the Scottish International Storytelling Festival celebrates Robert Louis Stevenson and Sir Walter Scott.
