In 2010, our fourth citywide reading campaign put the spotlight firmly on poetry. Do you carry a poem? If so, which one and – most importantly – how?

On phones, pinned to their jacket (Lorraine Kelly), in wallets, in heads and hearts (Alan Cumming), people told us where they carried their favourite poem. Throughout the ‘Carry a Poem’ campaign we gave out thousands of free Carry A Poem books and Carry a Poem Pocket Cards, and there were Carry a Poem Events galore. There was a trail to follow to bring words to the streets in partnership with the Scottish Poetry Library and pictures of poems, poets, even a poetry olympics.

The campaign might be over, but you can still Carry a Poem and pass it on with our Carry a Poems Worksheets. So… how do you carry yours?
