Another Four scenic Walking Trails... soon!

We currently have four more trails in the pipeline. Each trail is set around a theme that has helped to make our literary heritage world-famous. All walking routes take you to some of the more noteworthy locations in the city-centre - some of which are well-known, some of which are just as interesting, but are easily missed. You'd be surprised how much more there is to see when you know where to look.

The walks are suitable to anyone who is able to spend a couple of hours shopping around town, and they are easy to fit in when you visit our city-centre.

Guided Tours

If you have a taste for more, there are several highly informative guided tours with a literature theme that are worth checking out.

Or have a peek online

If you can't visit the city centre yourself, each Trail page offers a small online glimpse into the many places that have inspired writers and poets alike.

You can take an even more atmospheric virtual tour around the city's literary hotspots with our Stories in Stone Podcast on the Visit Scotland website.
