I was seized with a keen desire to see Holmes again... He was pacing the room swiftly, eagerly, his hands clasped behind him.

What's The Campaign About?

One Book One Edinburgh 2008 - Jekyll and Hyde

We are delighted to announced the second One Book – One Edinburgh citywide reading campaign, designed to bring Edinburgh's residents together to read a classic Scottish story.

This follows on from the success of the 2007 campaign – you can now read our full report on the Kidnapped campaign.

Jekyll & Hyde paperback cover

The positive feedback we received has inspired us to focus on Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. This is a really dark, gothic tale, from a wonderful Edinburgh author who was heavily influenced by the duality of our city. Everybody thinks they know the story – but how many people have actually read it?
