Sat 16th Feb Steveson's relationship with Father Unveiled
OK, not the juicy shocker that that line suggests, but today's Daily Mail sports a well-written 2-page spread about the contrasting moral fibre of "The Men of Two Halves", RLS Stevenson and his father. It also gives a brief glimpse into the complex relationship between the respectable face of civil life at the time, and the murkier reality of life behind the surface.

Sun 3rd Feb Edinburgh Lectures: Alan Grant
Alan Grant, one of the two comic book giants behind the One Book - One Edinburgh graphic novel adaptation of Jekyll & Hyde, was invited to speak as part of the 2008 Edinburgh Lecture series, and somehow managed to dodge a formal lecture and opted for a more casual approach instead.
The Forbidden Planet has just put a great article online with a lengthy report of the evening, which had Alan talking informally with writer Denise Mina about how he got into comics, the place of comic books in the literary world, and his disappointment about the lack of visible hospital corridor romances in our NHS. A great warm-up to the launch of the Jekyll & Hyde graphic novel on the 21st of February, and the upcoming appearances of Alan and Cam Kennedy during the reading campaign.
