It seems like a city built on precipices, a perilous city. Great roads rush down hill like rivers in spate. Great buildings rush up like rockets.

Guided Tours for Schools

One Book One Edinburgh 2008 - Jekyll and Hyde

Schools are welcome to book special walking tours of Stevenson's Edinburgh, tailored for school groups: email us for more information at tour@cityofliterature.com. Please contact us as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Literary Stevenson Tour

There are several public guided tours running during the One Book - One Edinburgh reading campaign that will take you to the well-known, and lesser known, Edinburgh city centre places that are of special interest to RL Stevenson and the Jekyll & Hyde story. If your school does not book a walk for your students, you might want to alert your pupils and their parents to this excellent opportunity to show your pupils their own town in a whole new literary jacket.

Edinburgh Online

We have plenty of web resources about Stevenson's Edinburgh and the setting of Jekyll & Hyde - Edinburgh or London? You can now access the online Capital Collections exhibition - digitised photos of Edinburgh through the ages, with a special Stevenson feature.
