School Support Overview Page

Our successful One Book - One Edinburgh citywide reading campaign returns as part of The Lost World Read 2009. This year we'll be reading the adventure thriller The Lost World by Edinburgh-born Arthur Conan Doyle, who would be 150 years old this year.
By coincidence, Darwin, who once studied in Edinburgh, was born 200 years ago, and the book's theme is an excellent chance to pay tribute to two extraordinary men.
More than 50 organisations have come together to help us provide free books, public events and a programme of school and community events.

Animation Projects for Schools
The Lost Book animation project
A special storytelling project linked to and launching with the campaign, lasting 6 months.
Online animated whodunit with graphics from Edinburgh animation company Binary Fable.
Each animated sequence features new music from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
Paper Cinema
The pleasure here is not just that the animations are both sinister and enchanting, or that the wonderful music gives the whole thing the feel of a quirky silent movie, but also that you can see how the show is being made right before your eyes. - The Guardian.
