The shortlist for the regional finals of the Scottish Thistle Awards was announced today (28 September) and sees some of the biggest events in Scottish history, world-famous attractions and first-class accommodation providers compete for the coveted regional accolades.
Edinburgh City of Literature Trust was shortlisted for the ‘Working Together for Tourism’ Award for its Canongate Stars & Stories Project. The Trust is one of three shortlisted for this award, the other two contestants including Marketing Edinburgh and Rosslyn Chapel.
There are sixteen awards in total, each celebrating the work involved in the tourism sector of Scotland. They are recognised today as Scotland’s prestigious tourism awards, and are based on 5 regional programmes with the winners progressing to the National Final on 23rd November 2017 at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh.
Established over 20 years ago, the Awards are organised by VisitScotland in association with the Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards, Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards, HIT Scotland, Scotland Food and Drink, Scottish Licenced Trade Association, Scottish Tourism Alliance, sportscotland and Wild Scotland.
