The Edinburgh International Children’s Festival (previously known as Imaginate) is now in its 28th year, and returns with a new and exciting programme of events.
The festival opens at the National Museum of Scotland for a family weekend, where lots will be taking place, including life performances, live music, storytelling, drop-in activities and much more. This event is suited to 0-12-year olds.
After the opening weekend the festival dives into a wide variety of productions, exploring storytelling and performances for all ages across the city. From fairy tale retellings, to underwater performances, there is much to see and be inspired by.

Imaginate is the national organisation in Scotland that promotes, develops and celebrates theatre and dance for children and young people. The festival garners an annual audience of 10,000 children, teachers and families, and has established itself as one of the best festivals showcasingchildren’s theatre and dance.
