Robert Louis Stevenson is back this year with the theme of crime. 2016 marks 130 years since the publication of Stevenson’s Kidnapped, a ripping yarn based on the Appin Murder. From Ian Rankin to Arthur Conan Doyle, generations of Edinburgh’s crime writers have been inspired by Stevenson’s tales.
Every year around 13 November, Stevenson’s birthday, our City of Literature comes together in celebration of one of its most famous literary son. RLS aficionado or literary neophyte, join in with talks, walks and mysteries to be solved across Edinburgh during the whole week of 7-13 November. Grab your magnifying class and get prying into the city’s criminal connections in celebration of Stevenson’s gripping stories.
A full programme will be unveiled closer to the date.
