Submissions are now open for this year’s Green Pencil Award.
A creative writing competition for schools run by City of Edinburgh Council library service, the theme for 2015 is ‘Food for Thought – Scotland’s food and drink’ and the competition is open to all P4 to P7 pupils at school in Edinburgh.
Entrants have to write a piece of poetry or prose on the theme that is no longer than one side of A4. It can be about a favourite meal, a memorable Scottish picnic, or even a new Scottish food.
The only children’s creative writing award for Edinburgh children, the Green Pencil Award is an annual competition with an environmental theme. Full details can be found at the Green Pencil Award website.
