September 29, 2017

Sister City of Literature Granada, Granada Ciudad de Literatura, recently sent out a call for young and emerging writers from across the world to apply to the newly created Writers in Residency Programme set up in Granada.

Representatives from the University of Granada, Granada UNESCO City of Literature, and an independent translator and writer from the city of Granada, awarded the first international residencies in Granada to Petra Žišt, linked to Ljubljana UNESCO City of Literature, and to Kirsty Logan, linked to Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature.

Edinburgh City of Literature Trust was honoured to be able to support Kirsty Logan in her residency application, and is excited to see the residency programme in Granada develop, sure to foster even stronger ties between our cities of literature.

‘Granada UNESCO City of Literature and the University of Granada set up the programme to foster contacts and forge bonds between writers from Granada and those from other cities and countries all over the world, to extend the international reach of Granada-based writers, to build international awareness of the cultural fabric of the city of Granada, and to promote Granada as a city of the arts that welcomes talent from abroad with open arms.’
