Something of the sort is to be seen in Salisbury Crags at Edinburgh. ... 'It was on that, ' said Professor Challenger, pointing to the tree, 'that the pterodactyl was perched. I climbed halfway up the rock before I shot him.'

This July, Edinburgh welcomes over a hundred Creative Writing students, staff and special guests from the University of New Orleans for a month-long series of classes and events, hosted by Edinburgh Napier University’s MA in Creative Writing. The course is part of the low residency MFA Program at UNO and features manuscript consultations and intensive workshops in fiction, non-fiction, screenwriting, playwriting and poetry.

The programme runs from 2nd-29th July and applications are now open to a limited number of local, graduate-level writers, with discounts offered for individual components of the course.

Sam Kelly, Programme Leader for the Edinburgh Napier MA in Creative Writing says:
“This is an exclusive opportunity for local writers to experience the unique New Orleans MFA workshops, and the beginning of an extremely exciting partnership between Edinburgh and UNO. We are delighted to have been chosen as the host for this program, and can’t wait to welcome all its participants to Scotland.”
