An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't.

It’s a double whammy for Edinburgh at the 2012 Bookseller Industry Awards! We were very pleased to bring you the news when Edinburgh City libraries/City of Edinburgh Libraries and Information Services were shortlisted for Library of the Year, but now an even bigger congratulations is in order as they scooped the prize last night.

The Library of the Year award is a new category of the Bookseller Industry Awards and our Edinburgh libraries are deserving winners, with their fantastic range of services including their app and buzzing social media activity.

Delightful news for Blackwell too, as the award for Manager of the Year was awarded to Darrell Thrush-Denning of the city's South Bridge branch. With so much going on in his bookshop, from children’s book groups to their monthly book quiz, we are not surprised.
