Poems on the Wall – Krakow

Poems on the Wall – Krakow

October 7, 2014

Another little bit of Edinburgh City of Literature appeared on a building in our sister City of Literature, Krakow.

As part of the Poems On The Walls project in Bracka Street, Krakow, a different poem is displayed each night from nightfall till 2 a.m.. A line from Duncan Ban MacIntyre’s Song of Edinburgh is the latest, following an extract from Edinburgh by Christine De Luca – the current Edinburgh Makar – and Edinburgh Doesn’t Scan that Easily by previous Makar, Ron Butlin.

In the original Gaelic, Duncan’s line is, ”S e baile mòr Dhùn Èideann a b’ èibhinn leam a bhith ann’.

Look out for more Edinburgh poets and poems appearing as part of the project.
