Discover Edinburgh through the eyes of its creative community, as writers, poets, songwriters, comedians, and more, take you on a journey around their literary Edinburgh.

This year Edinburgh City of Literature Trust is working with Edinburgh’s Hogmanay to showcase the city’s literary history and heritage as part of the Message from the Skies.

Walk With Me features ten micro-trails developed by creative residents and workers from across the city. Each piece provides a unique insight into a specific location in the city connected to and surrounding the buildings in which Val McDermid’s poems are being projected onto as part of Message from the Skies.

Micro-tours are self-guided walks which let you discover a literary location or area through the eyes of one of Edinburgh’s creative souls. They usually take about 30 minutes tops, through free and easily accessible areas, and there are downloadable translations provided in various languages which you can print out and take with you.

If you’re looking to learn more about the city’s past and present, join some of Edinburgh’s creative community and find out what has and continues to inspire them through their specially created personal micro-tours below.
