and who, indeed that has once seen Edinburgh, with its couchant crag-lion, but must see it again in dreams, waking or sleeping?

Give a vulnerable child a book for Christmas!

Blackwell's are once again working with Barnardo’s, Edinburgh Women’s Aid, Edinburgh Young Carers, many of The City of Edinburgh Council’s support units and Edinburgh Foster Care to make this Christmas a little better for some of the city’s most vulnerable kids.

The children each put their Christmas wishes for a book on a gift tag which we then hang on a Christmas tree in our Children's Department. All you need to do is choose a tag and pick a book you think that child will appreciate, from dinosaurs to fairies, Robert Muchamore to Jacqueline Wilson. While some of the children have requested a specific title or author, our staff in the children’s department are more than happy to help people with their selections if they are unsure. You then pay for the book and leave it with our staff who will ensure that it gets wrapped, before being distributed to the right child in time for Christmas Day.

If you would like to gift a book to a child please drop into our Children’s Department or give us a call on 0131 6228 225
