Now in its fifth year, and an additional fifth date due to demand, Blackwell's Writers at the Fringe brings you once again the best in Scottish writing. Every Thursday during the Festival we invite a selection of Scottish performers to give us a taste of their work. New and unpublished works of literary art stands alongside established novelists, with any and all genres free to be expressed - from Scots poetry to cutting edge drama, from folk music to contemporary fiction, and all that is found in between. This year we are delighted to welcome the following performers Thursday 30th August Alex Gray: Tartan Noir from this Femme Fatale Michael J. Malone: Brings fresh blood to the Scottish crime scene with his debut Blood Tears Vivien Jones: prize-winning poetry – and About Time, Too Elaine DiRollo: Take to the waters at Bleakly Hall hydropath Alan Bissett: Bright Spark, Boyracer and a bit of a Ladiesman Also performing are Thursday 2nd August Sara Sheridan: Enjoy some cosy noir with her crime novel Brighton Belle Ewan Wilkinson: Traditional and contemporary Scottish folk music Denise Mina: Fields of Blood and Gods & Beasts Charlie Stross: Enter the Laundry and defend the realm from supernatural threats Louise Welsh: Meet The Girl on the Stairs, and one of Scotland’s most atmospheric writers Thursday 9th August Hazel McHaffie: How far would you go to Save Sebastian?
